Somerset Lodge
Somerset Guest Lodge is a spacious, family-owned retreat nestled in the heart of Somerset West, showcasing the elegant charm of Cape Dutch architecture. Perfectly positioned for both business and leisure, this welcoming guest lodge offers a warm and friendly atmosphere where comfort meets character.
Guests can choose from a selection of twin, double, or family rooms, each uniquely decorated to reflect its own charm and appeal. All rooms feature en-suite bathrooms with complimentary amenities, as well as modern conveniences including satellite TV, tea and coffee station and mini fridge. Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi is also available throughout the lodge.
Start your day with a delicious full English breakfast at our on-site restaurant or indulge in a variety of options from our à la carte menu, including our popular hearty pub meals. Unwind with a refreshing beer or drink in our traditional English pub.

We are thrilled to welcome you to Somerset Lodge as the new owners. After many years in the United States, we felt the call of our homeland and decided to return to sunny South Africa to take over this charming lodge.
Since taking the reins, we’ve been dedicated to enhancing the lodge to ensure a more comfortable and inviting experience for all our guests, whether local or international. Our goal is to blend modern upgrades with the warm, authentic South African hospitality that makes our corner of the Western Cape so special.

General Information
Checking In
Your Room Key
Please keep your room keys secure at all times. Each key set includes access to your room and the building’s front door. The front door is locked from 10:00 PM onward, requiring your keys for entry. Upon check-out, kindly ring the front office bell and return your keys to our staff.
Parking
Safe secure parking is available at both the front and back entrances of the building for up to 20 vehicles. Please ensure you do not leave valuables such as cellphones, laptops, or keys visible in your car.
Airport transfers and taxis
We offer convenient airport collection and drop-off services. Upon arrival, your designated driver will greet you at the arrivals area with a name board. Our shuttle services, provided by an external vendor, require advance payment. Airport transfers are priced at R425, with an additional passenger surcharge of R75 per person. For local travel needs, metered taxis are available starting at R60 base fare or R15.00 per kilometre. Additionally, the airport and local area host several car hire companies for added convenience.
Functions and Parties
Our restaurant area is ideal for hosting functions and parties, accommodating up to 60 guests. We specialize in set menus, offering delightful 3-course meals. Inquire about our charming braai area, nestled in a courtyard adorned with fairy lights and bougainvillea’s. It’s the perfect setting for your year-end function, birthday celebration, corporate gathering, or any other special occasion.
Our Chef
Meet our esteemed Chef, Molly, whose culinary talent has graced our lodge for many years. Known locally for her exceptional cuisine and meticulous preparation, Chef Molly leads our kitchen team. Enjoy her delicious creations throughout the week, from hearty breakfasts to flavourful restaurant meals. Her expertise ensures every dish is a delightful experience.
Restaurant Hours
Breakfast is served daily from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM Monday through Friday, and from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM on weekends and public holidays. Lunch is available every day from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
For dinner, we open nightly from 6:00 PM with last orders at 8:30 PM. Our breakfast is renowned for its hearty, home-cooked meals that everyone enjoys. Simply ring the kitchen bell to place your order.
If you’re planning a day out, consider pre-ordering our convenient takeaway lunch packs in advance. Our dinner meals are freshly prepared from scratch and are highly acclaimed. To avoid waiting upon your return, you can pre-order dinner and we’ll notify you when it’s ready, either in your room or at the bar.

Laundy Service
We offer a comprehensive laundry service (dry cleaning excluded) at an additional cost. Please arrange for laundry services at the office.
For safety reasons, we do not provide irons in the rooms or allow ironing on bedding or carpets. Guests may use the ironing board in our designated laundry room for personal ironing needs.
Smoking
All rooms at our lodge are non-smoking. If you prefer to smoke, please request a room with a patio and smoke outside. Ashtrays are provided for your convenience.
Our bar is designated as a smoking area, while smoking is also permitted in the courtyard. Please note that smoking is not allowed in the rest of the building.
Rooms that have been smoked in will incur a R1500 cleaning fee for carpet and upholstery restoration.

Our General Manager, Amanda Swart, assumed her role in 2021 and has since infused her unique style and customer service focus into our operations. With an in-depth knowledge of every aspect of our establishment, she is dedicated to ensuring your business or holiday experience exceeds expectations.
