Molly’s Pride and Joy
Molly loves making food and proud of all her creations. She’s been at the Lodge for 20 years and the Queen in her kitchen. Her food is known to thousands of travellers that graced the Lodge over the years. Whether it is a Bar Lunch, Dinner or one of her famous “Three Course” Sunday or Holiday lunches you will never be the same again. You must try it to believe it!
SUNDAY ROAST
ONLY R160 per person
We are re-introducing an “old favourate”, which is our Sunday and Holiday 3-course meals consisting of a STARTER, ROAST, DESSERT and Coffee & Tea. The roast is altering every Sunday between BEEF, LAMB and PORK. Please contact our front desk at 021-851-7853 to get the upcoming lunch choice and also to book your table.

General Information
Checking In
Your Room Key
Please keep your keys safely with you at all times. Room keys include a key to your room as well as the front door. The front door is locked from 10 P.M so you will need your keys to gain access to the building. We ask that you please ring the front office bell at check-out and hand your keys back to one of our staff members.
Parking
Safe secure parking is available at both the front and back entrances of the building for up to 20 vehicles. Please ensure you do not leave valuables such as cellphones, laptops, or keys visible in your car.
Airport transfers and taxis
We can arrange airport collections and drop offs for you. Your driver will meet you at at arrivals with a name board. Shuttle services are outsourced and need to be paid for in advance. Transfers to and from the airport are R425 with an extra passenger surcharge of R75 per person. Local metered taxis can be arranged for other trips. Current 2019 fares start at R60 base fee or R15.00 per kilometer. For further convenience there are also numerous car hire companies based at the airport and locally.
Functions and Parties
We regularly host functions and events in our restaurant area. Function capacity is approximately 60 people. We are particularly good at set menus such as 3 course meals. Also ask about our braai area – a fantastic courtyard area under fairy lights and bouganvilleas. A great area for your year end function, birthday party, corporate get together or any other special occasion.
Our Chef
Molly has been the Chef at the lodge for more years than anyone else. She is well known locally for her excellent cuisine and delicious food preparation. She leads the team on the Lodge’s special Sunday lunches and Holiday Lunches such as the Christmas Lunch.
Restaurant Hours
Breakfast is served from 7 A.M daily Monday Through Friday until 9.30 A.M On weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) breakfast is served from 8 A.M until 10 A.M. Breakfast times on Public Holidays are the same as the weekend hours. Lunch is available between the hours of 12-3 seven days a week.
We are open for dinner every night from 6 P.M. Last orders need to go through to the kitchen by 9 P.M. Our breakfast is great, everyone loves it, so please enjoy our hearty home cooked food. Ring the kitchen bell for service and place your order. Take away lunch packs can be ordered in advance to make your day out more convenient.
All dinner meals are cooked freshly from scratch and are fantastic. To avoid a wait when you get back dinner can be pre-ordered and we can call you from your room or the bar when it is ready.
Free Wi-Fi via Fibre
Free (password enabled) Wi-Fi is available throughout Somerset Lodge. Should you require Wi-Fi simply ask the manager for a password and you are good to go!
Laundy Service
A full laundry service (dry cleaning excluded) is available. Laundry lists are available in your room. Simply fill in the list of items you wish to be done and we will take care of the rest.
Laundry collected before 9 A.M will be returned by 9 A.M the following day. Laundry handed in after 9 A.M will fall into the following days cycle i.e laundry collected at 7 P.M on a Tuesday will be done on Wednesday and returned by Thursday at 9 A.M. In the interest of not having burnt bedding or carpets we do not issue irons or allow ironing in the rooms. Should you wish to iron an item yourself your are welcome to do so on the ironing board in our laundry room
Smoking
All rooms are non smoking. Should you wish to smoke please request a room with a balcony or patio and smoke outside. Ashtrays are available. The bar is a smoking area and the rest of the building is not. Smoking is also permitted in the courtyard. Rooms that have been smoked in will be subject to a R1500 carpet and upholstery cleaning fee.
Our General Manager
Antoinette Gladwin has been the manager at this lodge for the last 18 years. She knows the place inside out and 100% focused on making your business or holiday visit as best as possible.
